Tom Holland denies Spider-Man 3 rumours

Tom Holland insists that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will not be joining him in the new Spider-Man movie.

Tom Holland has insisted that the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will not be appearing in the next Spider-Man movie.

The third Spidey film of the MCU era - currently shooting in Atlanta - is rumoured to be a multiverse adventure that will see Holland team up with his predecessors Maguire and Garfield to tackle a variety of enemies, including Jamie Foxx's Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus.

Asked directly about the speculation in an interview for Esquire, Holland replied: "No, no, they will not be appearing in this film.

"Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no.

"It'll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we've been making."

He added: "I honestly have no idea what this film is about and I'm eight weeks into shooting it."

The as-yet untitled film is due for release on December 17.
