Black Panther 2 'to be filmed next summer despite death of Chadwick Boseman'

Filming of the new Black Panther movie will reportedly begin next summer despite the death of lead star Chadwick Boseman.

The sequel to Black Panther will reportedly be filmed next summer despite the death of lead star Chadwick Boseman.

The actor died in August following a secret four-year battle with colon cancer, news that took the entertainment world - including Marvel - by surprise.

Black Panther 2 had been in development for some time prior to Boseman's death and although he was expected to play the key part in the film, The Hollywood Reporter claims that production will be going ahead next year.

The publication says that Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett will all return for the sequel, while Narcos star Tenoch Huerta is "in talks" to play a villainous character.

Filming is scheduled to begin in July in Atlanta and last "upwards of six months" ahead of a planned release in 2022.
