Love Island's summer series kicks off, with bombshell Zachariah Noble being introduced into the mix early on.

The new series of Love Island has begun, with 10 islanders entering the famous villa in Mallorca.

The public matched up the boys with the girls, creating five couples, but in a twist at the end of the first episode the girls were dared by host Maya Jama to step forward if they wanted to swap out their man.

Ruchee Gurung and Jess Harding - partnered with Mehdi Edno and George Fensom respectively - then took up the dare, shortly before the first bombshell of the series entered the villa.

Joining the group is Zachariah Noble, a 25-year-old from South-East London who works as a personal trainer and basketball player.

Explaining his reasons for taking part in the show, he said: "I always say, 'you only grow as a person when you take yourself out of your comfort zone' and I think it's something that's so far out of my comfort zone, I'd be silly not to give it a go.

"Being 25, I'm at a crossroads where I've been having fun, but I also want to have the peace and harmony that comes from being with the right woman."

Tonight Zachariah will select which of the girls - all five are options, not just Ruchee and Jess - he wants to couple up with, in the process making one of the boys single and leaving them vulnerable.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
