The Hollyoaks favourite who was killed off in a special episode speaks about their demise.

Hollyoaks star David Tag has opened up on his character Sylver McQueen's shock death in this week's special stunt episode.

Sylver lost his life after an explosion at the Salon de The, having heroically entered the burning building to save his stepson Bobby.

In a twist, however, Bobby - great-grandson of evil Silas - lied and told the McQueens that he hadn't seen Sylver, leaving him to die in the flames.

Tag, who had played Sylver for three and a half years, told the Daily Star: "I have actually known I was leaving for a while.

"I had a chat with producers a few months ago. I didn't know how it was going to happen but I'm really happy with the way I'm going out.

"I always said if I was to leave I wanted to go out in a bang."

He continued: "It's going to hit Mercedes and Cher hard and I'm excited to see what the funeral is like. It's not often you get to watch your own funeral."

Hollyoaks continues weeknights on Channel 4 and E4.
