Piers Morgan dashes back to UK to avoid quarantine

Piers Morgan takes a last-minute flight back to the UK from St Tropez in order to avoid the government's strict new quarantine rules.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan made a mad dash back home to the UK yesterday in order to avoid the government's new quarantine rules.

The 55-year-old has spent the last few weeks on holiday at his home in St Tropez with sons Spencer, 27, Stanley, 23 and Bertie, 19 and eight-year-old daughter Elise.

On Thursday the government announced that due to an increase in coronavirus cases abroad, Brits returning to the UK from destinations including France, the Netherlands and Monaco after 4am on Saturday will be required to self-isolate for two weeks.

Morgan appeared to waste no time in jetting back to the UK to avoid the ban, posting a picture of him with sons Spencer and Bertie at the airport alongside the caption "quarantine dodgers".

Morgan had spent significant portions of his holiday socialising with Dame Joan Collins, who also has a home in St Tropez, while his eldest son was seen partying with Louis Tomlinson's sister Lottie and Love Island's Francesca Allen.

The presenter still has some time off his main job and is not due back on GMB until September 7.
