The 62-year-old pianist is said to be a huge fan of the show and has found time in his diary to feature in the new series, which begins this Friday on Channel 4.

Later... with Jools Holland has been a staple part of the BBC schedules for 28 years and is currently airing its 55th series in a 10pm timeslot on BBC Two, just after Celebrity Gogglebox comes off air.
