Paul Chuckle wants Coronation Street role

Veteran entertainer Paul Chuckle reveals that his dream role would be a turn on Coronation Street.

Veteran comedian Paul Chuckle has said that his dream is to enjoy a pint in the Rovers Return on Coronation Street.

The 72-year-old, who was one half of a comedy double act with his brother Barry until the latter's death in 2018, revealed that he has been watching the soap since it began 60 years ago.

Talking to Corrie actor Colson Smith on his YouTube channel, Chuckle said: "Do you know I've watched Coronation Street right from the start, when it was in black and white.

"One thing I've always wanted to do is to be there, to come into the Rovers Return and buy a pint - a real one, on the telly."

Smith vowed to make his dream come true, telling him: "Paul Chuckle, as soon as lockdown is over give me a call and we will get to the Rovers and we'll have that beer."

Coronation Street returned to filming new episodes last week, ensuring that it will avoid having to drop off air due to the coronavirus pandemic.
