Former NI First Minister Dame Arlene Foster is to have an increased on-air presence on GB News.

Dame Arlene Foster is to have an increased role on GB News moving forward, it has been announced.

The former First Minister of Northern Ireland currently hosts a one-hour political programme on Friday afternoons and is a stand-in presenter on Sundays.

In her new role she will be part of the regular presenting team on weekdays and will also front shows in the burgeoning GB News Investigates brand, starting with a documentary on faith in politics later this year.

"As recent events have shown, Northern Ireland is absolutely critical to the political landscape and future of the UK," she said.

"It's vital that Northern Irish voices are always heard, not just on stories about NI, but in every political discussion coming out of Westminster."

Michael Booker, the channel's editorial director, added: "Arlene's wisdom and foresight about NI is unparalleled when it comes to any analysis of UK politics. It will be great to hear more from her throughout all our programming."

The news comes after the recent appointment of Christopher Hope as GB News's new Political Editor and the promotion of Tom Harwood to Deputy Political Editor.

Meanwhile, new political shows hosted by Camilla Tominey, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Andrew Pierce have been added to the schedule, with more appointments expected soon.
