GB News announces a new weekend show hosted by conservative commentator Darren Grimes.

GB News has announced that Darren Grimes will be joining its presenting lineup from the new year.

The 28-year-old is a conservative political commentator and a founder of the website Reasoned, which aims to challenge "lazy assumptions and narratives pushed by the UK's media outlets".

Grimes has been a regular guest on GB News since the channel launched in June but from January he will host his own show, Real Britain with Darren Grimes.

The programme will air on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm, directly following veteran broadcaster Alastair Stewart's weekend show, which is being shortened by an hour.

The news comes days after GB News confirmed that Eamonn Holmes has also joined the channel as anchor of the weekday breakfast show from the new year.
