UEFA reveals details of a new deal for its club competitions that will see BT Sport share the rights with Amazon's Prime Video service.

UEFA has confirmed that it has awarded the UK broadcast rights to its club competitions to BT Sport and Amazon from 2024.

Under the three-year deal, BT will show the vast majority of games exclusively live, with the rights to 533 out of the 550 matches - an increase of 133 games a season due to the new extended format of the competitions.

The broadcaster has complete exclusivity on the Europa League and the Europa Conference League but has lost one Champions League game a week - the first-pick Tuesday night game, which will stream on Amazon's Prime Video service.

Marc Allera, chief exec of BT Consumer, said: "BT Sport continues to be the home of the UEFA Club Competitions until 2027 and we are extremely proud to have the privilege of twelve years of broadcasting one of the most exciting competitions in the world.

"It is fantastic news for our viewers that from 2024 we will be able to show more games than ever before live and exclusive on BT Sport."

Alex Green, MD of Prime Video Sport in Europe, said: "Since 2018, we've seen millions of Prime members in the UK enjoy live sport on Prime Video, and it's that passion and energy that has led us to this exciting next step.

"We can't wait to bring fans the headline fixture of European football's most prestigious competition every Tuesday and we'll have more details to share about our broadcast in the future."

The deal is the first major rights agreement for BT Sport since the broadcaster announced plans to merge with Warner Bros Discovery's Eurosport operation in the UK.
