Celebrity Big Brother to return with Davina McCall?

Original Big Brother host Davina McCall is reportedly in talks about fronting a revival of the celebrity version for E4.

Davina McCall is said to be in talks about returning as host of Celebrity Big Brother 10 years after she left the show.

The 52-year-old was the original UK host of the popular reality series, hosting both the civilian edition and the celebrity spinoff on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010.

Former contestant Brian Dowling took over for a short stint when the show moved to Channel 5 in 2011 and was later replaced by Emma Willis, who served as host until it was axed by the network in 2018.

To mark BB's 20th anniversary, E4 has been airing a number of retrospective programmes co-hosted by McCall, and according to the Daily Star, this has convinced producers to revive the celebrity format.

"Davina has been approached about the potential of returning to present Celebrity Big Brother again," a source told the newspaper.

"She is the undisputed queen of the show, so it would be a dream to have her back. They're prepared to work everything around her if it means getting her on board. And of course, there will be a healthy pay cheque on offer."

The new series is being targeted for early 2021 and would most likely air on E4 rather than Channel 4.
