Liam Payne confirms talks for One Direction reunion

Liam Payne confirms that One Direction are discussing plans for a "special project" to mark the group's 10-year anniversary.

Liam Payne has confirmed that One Direction are in active discussions over a "special project" to mark the group's 10-year anniversary.

The five-piece boyband were put together on The X Factor in 2010 and went on to enjoy significant worldwide success before going "on hiatus" in January 2016.

The five have since pursued solo projects but according to Payne, the group have been in touch during the coronavirus lockdown to discuss a potential reunion.

"We've got a 10-year anniversary coming up so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice," Payne told The Sun.

"To hear a lot of people's voices and seeing old content and different things that we haven't seen for a long time or never seen before, it's very interesting.

"More than anything it's just been a real good time for us to connect together again."

One Direction have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and are the only band in history to see their first four albums debut at number one in the US.
