Dragons' Den promoted to BBC One for new series

The BBC announces that the next series of Dragons' Den will air on BBC One after 16 years as part of the BBC Two schedules.

The next series of Dragons' Den will air on BBC One instead of BBC Two, it has been announced.

The business-based show has been a staple of the BBC Two schedules for the last 16 years, peaking with more than 4 million viewers in the past.

"Dragons' Den has always been a favourite show with viewers and is still hugely popular," said BBC One's acting controller Kate Phillips.

"As a result it feels like the time is right to move our formidable Dragons' to BBC One, so they can entertain an even wider audience."

The new series, which will be Tej Lalvani's last as a dragon, is expected to air this spring.
