Chelsea will be looking to avoid ending a 29-year streak when they play host to Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea head into Wednesday's Premier League fixture against Arsenal looking to avoid ending a streak which has lasted since 1993.

Having earned their place in the FA Cup final over the weekend, Thomas Tuchel and his squad are now tasked with trying to make sure of third position in the top-flight standings as soon as possible.

However, the Blues head into the game against their London rivals on the back of losing two matches in succession at Stamford Bridge.

After the international break, Chelsea went down by a 4-1 scoreline to Brentford, while four days later, they lost out 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Should Chelsea fall to defeat versus the Gunners on Wednesday evening, it will represent the first time in 29 years that they have lost three successive home games in all competitions.

Coincidentally, the third game of that run was also against Arsenal as Alan Smith and Ian Wright both got on the scoresheet for the visitors.

On a more positive note, Chelsea are attempting to record their first league double over Arsenal since the 2015-16 campaign after prevailing 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in August.
