India battle back to reach 326-5 at stumps on day one of the third Test match with England in Rajkot.

Centuries from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have put India in control of the third Test against England in Rajkot.

Having lost the toss, England were superb during the early stages, reducing their hosts to 33-3, but Rohit (131) and Jadeja (110*) helped take India to 326-5 at the close of play.

Like in the previous Test, Ben Stokes's side were undone by three-figure scores by one of two players having done the hard work of dismissing other players for less notable knocks.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made just 10 from as many balls before being dismissed by Mark Wood, who followed that by taking the wicket of Shubman Gill for a duck.

When Rajat Patidar departed for just five off the bowling of Tom Hartley, the foundations had been laid for England to dominate, yet it only marked the revival through Rohit and Jadeja.

The pair put on a magnificent 204 for the fourth wicket, with captain Rohit hitting 14 fours and three sixes during his 131 before Wood struck after tea.

That brought debutant Sarfaraz Khan to the crease, with the 26-year-old hitting an outstanding 62 from 66 balls before being run out having wanting to get Jadeja - who was on 99 - to his ton.

Jadeja would bring up a fourth Test century off the following ball before ending the day on 110 not out, joined at the crease by Kuldeep Yadav (1), with Wood (3-69) the pick of the England bowlers.
