Finland men win gold in cross-country team sprint

Finland pair Iivo Niskanen and Sami Jauhojaervi win gold in the men's cross-country team sprint at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The pair narrowly edged hosts Russian Federation into the silver medal spot with a time of 23:14.89, which was 0.97 seconds faster than the Russians.

Germany were in the lead during the closing stages, but Tim Tscharnke fell on the final sprint after a clash with Jauhojaervi.

Sweden's pair of Emil Joensson and Teodor Peterson took bronze as they finished 15.12 seconds behind the leaders, while Germany finished seventh.

The gold is Finland's second of the Sochi Games.
