Defending champions Brazil beat the USA in four sets to win the gold medal in the final of the women's volleyball.

Defending champions Brazil have beaten the USA in four sets to win the gold medal in the final of the women's volleyball.

The Americans stormed to a 25-11 win in the opening set before the Brazilians levelled the match with a 25-17 triumph in the second.

The South Americans then took the third 25-20 and sealed the victory 25-17 in the fourth.

It is the first time in 21 matches this year that the USA have been defeated.
