Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka cruises through the first round of Wimbledon by defeating Portugal's Joao Sousa 6-3 6-4 6-3.

The fifth seed didn't offer his opponent a single break point throughout the match as he won 6-3 6-4 6-3 on No. 2 Court in 95 minutes.

Sousa, appearing at Wimbledon for the first time, never troubled the Swiss's serve and couldn't stop him making crucial breaks in each set.

Wawrinkaj, who has never got further than the fourth round at the All England Club, will next play either Aleksandr Nedovyesov or Lu Yen-Hsun.
