Result: Petra Kvitova eases past Bojana Jovanovski in straight sets

Petra Kvitova has eased past Bojana Jovanovski in the second round of the US Open, beating the Serbian 6-2 6-4.

Petra Kvitova has secured her place in the third round of the US Open courtesy of a straight-sets victory over Bojana Jovanovski.

The Czech needed only 26 minutes to edge ahead in the match by coasting to a 6-2 win in the opening set.

Kvitova, ranked 10th in the world, then picked up where she left off, breaking her Serbian counterpart twice in the opening five games to record a 6-4 victory in the second set and claim her place in the next round.
