Result: Italy clinch Fed Cup title

Italy beat Russia in Sardinia to claim their fourth Fed Cup title.

Italy have clinched their fourth Fed Cup title with victory over Russia in Sardinia.

The Italians took the best-of-five contest 3-0 thanks to Sara Errani's 6-1 6-1 triumph over Alisa Kleybanova on Sunday.

Victories for Errani and Roberta Vinci on Saturday put the hosts in control of the tie before the win was sealed.

Italy last lifted the trophy in 2010 after previous successes in 2006 and 2009.
