Roberto Bautista Agut beats Thomaz Belluci to reach third round of Barcelona Open

Roberto Bautista Agut beats Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci 6-3 6-4 to reach the third round of the Barcelona Open.

Roberto Bautista Agut has beaten Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets in the second round of the Barcelona Open.

The Spaniard saw off Bellucci inside one hour and 20 minutes to progress into the third round.

The opening set began cautiously, with both players giving little away off their own service games. However, Bautista Agut made a decisive break in the sixth game to move 4-2 up, and the world number 16 maintained his advantage to claim the set 6-3.

Bellucci looked to recover in the second set, but the Brazilian allowed his opponent to break in the third game to make his task of levelling the match more difficult.

Much like the first set, Bautista Agut had no problem in preserving his two-game lead against the world number 75, and he went on to serve out the set 6-4 at the first attempt to book his place in the next round.
