Daniel Gimeno-Traver fights back from two sets down to knock Juan Monaco out of the French Open.

Juan Monaco threw away a two-set advantage as Daniel Gimeno-Traver recorded a 4-6 4-6 7-6 6-4 6-4 victory from their French Open encounter in Paris this evening.

It looked as though world number 17 Monaco was going to ease into round two at Roland Garros when he took the opening two sets thanks to two separate breaks of serve.

He then held a 4-1 lead in the third-set tie-breaker, but Spain's Gimeno-Traver eventually emerged a 7-4 victor.

Having lost the first two sets 6-4, world number 52 Gimeno-Traver then went on to inflict the same scoreline on Monaco to book his place in the next round.

He will now face Serbia's Viktor Troicki for a place in round three.
