Ana Ivanovic forced to fight back at French Open to overcome Misaki Doi

Seventh seed Ana Ivanovic beats Misaki Doi 3-6 6-3 6-4 at Roland Garros to book her place in round three of the French Open.

Ana Ivanovic has defeated Misaki Doi in three sets to advance through to the third round of the French Open.

The seventh seed was forced to battle back following a slow start yet again, having survived a similar scare against Yaroslava Shvedova earlier this week.

Two losses of serve in the opening set allowed Doi to claim a 6-3 triumph, but 2008 champion Ivanovic battled to a 6-3 win of her own in the second to take the match all the way.

Ivanovic may have struggled during the clay-court season, but she remained firm in the decider to earn two breaks of serve in the fifth and seventh games to see out a 3-6 6-3 6-4 success.

Donna Vekic awaits in the third round.
