Two men's matches from yesterday must also conclude today – with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga taking on Stanislas Wawrinka and Juan Martin del Potro facing Tomas Berdych.

19.52: Make that 5-0 to Kanepi, who is now serving to win the match.

19.51: Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney on Twitter: "@andy_murray was unreal today. Composed and class."

19.48: It appears that Rus may have angered Kanepi by taking the second set! Kanepi is currently 3-0 up in the third and serving!

19.45: Back to the round-up, Rafael Nadal dropped just TWO games on his way to defeating Juan Monaco. There was also a three-set win for Maria Sharapova over Klara Zakopalova.

19.42: SET! Rus makes it interesting by sending her encounter Kanepi into a decider thanks to a 6-4 success.

19.41: There were also wins for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Juan Martin Del Potro, while defending women's champion Li Na was knocked out by Yaroslava Shvedova.

19.38: Ferrer advanced into the quarter-finals at the expense of fellow Spaniard Granollers, while another Spanish player, Almagro, comfortably saw off Janko Tipsarevic.

19.36: While we wait for Rus and Kanepi to decide the second set, let's round up some the key matches from today.

19.33: And just as I say that, Rus serves out to open up a 5-4 advantage. Kanepi is now serving to stay in the second set.

19.32: There is an epic ninth game going on between Rus and Kanepi, with the score flitting between deuce and advantage. It's 4-4 currently.

19.30: Murray on next opponent Ferrer: "[Ferrer] is going to be tough. The Spanish on clay are playing unbelievable. I've lost to Ferrer quite a few times on clay and in pratice too. I will have to play really well to win."

19.28: Murray on Gasquet: "We've had great matches, I've known him since I was a young kid - he's an unbelievable talent and can play every shot. I always expected a tough match and I'm happy I won."

19.26: Back to Rus versus Kanepi and the former of the two has surrendered her serve so soon after breaking. She leads 4-3, but the set is now back with serve.

19.25: And even more Murray (sorry to bore you!) The Scot is the only non-Spaniard in his half of the draw. He is joined by next opponent Ferrer, as well as defending champion Rafael Nadal and Nicolas Almagro.

19.23: Staying with Murray - he now faces David Ferrer in the last eight. Have to say that the Spaniard is on top form at the moment, highlighted by his comfortable win over Marcel Granollers earlier today.

19.21: Moving back to Murray, you can read our match report of his encounter against Gasquet here.

19.20: In fact, Rus has broken to take a 4-2 lead.

19.18: Meanwhile, having lost the opening set 6-1, Rux is holding her own in the second against Kanepi. She leads 3-2, with the set going on serve.

19.15: Murray is not the only player to win this evening. Kvitova is through to the quarter-finals of the women's draw courtesy of a 6-2 6-1 win over Lepchenko.

19.14: RESULT - Lepchenko 2-6 1-6 Kvitova

19.12: Looking ahead to his quarter-final clash with Ferrer, Murray admits that it will "really difficult" and that he will have to be "at my best" to progress.

19.11: The crowd jeer Murray during his on-court interview at the umpires calls for some respect.

19.09: RESULT - Gasquet 6-1 4-6 1-6 2-6 Murray

19.08: THIRD MATCH POINT for Murray at 40-15...and third time lucky! What a stylish performance overall.

19.06: 30-0 to Murray who is on his way. Yet more fantastic shots from Britain's number one.

19.05: Play has temporarily stopped while a Mexican wave takes place!!

19.03: And Gasquet holds on, just! But is he just prolonging the inevitable? It's now 5-2 to Murray, who will serve for the match.

19.02: MATCH POINT Murray again...but again Gasquet pulls a brilliant shot out the hat to keep this match alive.

19.01: MATCH POINT Murray...which Gasquet survives after a quite spectacular rally. The way the crowd have reacted you think he has won the title!

19.00: Okay, I give in. These shots from Murray are unreal. Instead of a shot of the match, a highlight reel should be produced!

18.57: It's now 5-1 Murray and you could hear a pin drop! Gasquet serving to stay in the match.

18.55: Elsewhere, Kaia Kanepi has comfortably won the opening set against Arantxa Rus 6-1.

18.52: BREAK POINT Murray thanks to another bullet return of serve...and this time it taken emphatically. Two breaks of serve and a 4-1 lead. It's safe to say Murray is heading for the quarter-finals and David Ferrer.

18.51: BREAK POINT Murray...which he JUST lobs long. Back level a 40-40.

18.50: Petra Kvitova breaks twice to take the opening set against Varvara Lepchenko 6-2. What response will the American make in the second?

18.48: Scrap what I said about the best shot of the match earlier because it just happened there! Murray lifts the ball over Gasquet from the in the deep. Incredible. Although the crowd don't agree, who are almost silent.

18.46: Easy, easy, easy! Murray serves to love yet again to take a 3-1 lead. Surely he won't be caught now.

18.45: Murray is making Gasquet run wherever he wants him to currently. It is almost exhibition stuff.

18.42: Make that 40-15. Two break points...but Murray only needs one! What a return from the 26-year-old who takes a 2-1 lead, with his service game to come.

18.41: Chance for Murray, who leads 30-15 on the Gasquet serve.

18.39: Murray holds to make it 1-1. He has now won 23 of the last 22 points on his service game. Where was that form in the opening set?!

18.37: Not sure if I have ever seen a tennis crowd be so anti a player in the way that they are being towards Murray right now. The Scot has really upset almost everybody here, with his winners being met by the smallest ripples of applause.

18.36: Gasquet pulls through to win the opening game which is greeted with a massive "yeah" from the Frenchman. He's pumped up, as are the crowd again. Can Murray silence them for a second time?

18.35: We are level at deuce here in the opener of the fourth with Gasquet serving. The crowd of also woken up and are getting behind their man.

18.31: Awesome from Murray at the start of the fourth. Just awesome! The Scot produces a drop shot from the back of the court that Gasquet simply had no answer to. Shot of the day for me!

18.30: Kaia Kanepi grabs an early break against Arantxa Rus to take a 2-0 lead.

18.28: SET! And with an ace, Murray wins the third set 6-1 and more important opens up a two sets to one lead. I may live to regret this, but I cannot see him losing from here.

18.26: Finally a game for Gasquet, who holds his serve! I have never seen a player's performance and attitude alter so quickly. 5-1 Murray, who is serving for the set.

18.24: Early news from Varvara Lepchenko versus Petra Kvitova and the latter has broken to take a 2-0 lead in the opening set.

18.23: 5-0 Murray and this is all too easy. Gasquet appears to have lost the plot and his rhythm. As have the crowd, who are as quiet as a mouse.

18.22: There is also another final 16 women's match that has just started - Arantxa Rus versus number 23 seed Kaia Kanepi. Stay tuned for updates

18.18: Three break points for Murray...the first of which Gasquet survives. Two to go...and another one bites the dust as Murray hits long. One left...there it is! 4-0 Murray and this is looking ominous for Gasquet.

18.17: While our main focus this evening will be on all matters Murray, there will also be some updates from the women's last 16 match between Varvara Lepchenko and Petra Kvitova, which has just started.

18.16: Quickly back to Nadal, you can read how he advanced through to the quarter-finals at the expense of Monaco here.

18.15: Murray is yet to lose a point in this third set, some cracking shots from the world number four following a poor start.

18.14: While Gasquet appears to have hit the self destruct button, Murray looks like he has had the weight of the world lifted of his shoulders. The Scot is playing some sublime tennis as opens up a 3-0 advantage.

18.12: Murray has definitely won the mind games here. Gasquet double faults again to hand Murray the break and a 2-0 lead in the third.

18.11: Gasquet appears to be showing some mental frailties here. Murray back clutching and questioning of certain decisions appears to have troubled the Frenchman. It's 40-30 to Murray on the Gasquet serve after some great defence from the Scot.

18.09: Murray and Gasquet are back on court and the British number one holds his serve to take a 1-0 lead. There is very little support for Murray right now, things have certainly turned a little spicy!

18.06: What a performance from defending champion Rafa Nadal! He drops just two games on his way to defeating Juan Monaco. Surely the Spaniard is unstoppable on this form?

18.05: RESULT - Nadal 6-2 6-0 6-0 Monaco

18.04: SET! Which Murray takes, although it was nothing to do with him! Gasquet commits a double fault to hand Murray a 6-4 success. We are level at one set apiece.

18.03: Incidentally, the back clutching appears the be infuriating the home crowd, who begin to jeer the Scot. Not that he is bothered, he has another break point courtesy of a fantastic cross court shot...

18.01: SET POINT Murray...which he fluffs by sending the ball low into the net. And low and behold, a clutch of the back!

18.00: Ta Matthew! I'm going to start with a potentially controversial question! Is it just me, or does Andy Murray clutch his back after every bad shot?!

Right, that's me for today. I will be handing you over to the astounding Liam Apicella for the remainder of the action. Stay with us!

17.58: Meanwhile, Nadal breaks Monaco for what seems like the 100th time. The Spaniard will serve for a spot in the last eight.

17.58: Such an important hold from Murray as he staves off two break points to move 5-4 ahead in the set.

17.56: Meanwhile, Nadal leads Monaco 4-0 in the third.

17.56: It is quite amazing how many times that Murray has hit the net in this match thus far. He is a break point down once more.

17.55: Another error from Murray as he holds his back. Could it be causing him problems again?

17.53: A mis-hit from Murray hands Gasquet the chance to move level at 40-40. Meanwhile, Nadal has broken once more to lead Monaco 3-0 in the third.

17.51: More from David Felgate: "We were praising the forehand in the previous service game but in the end it was the forehand that let him down then. There were some pretty lame shots to hand Gasquet the break back."

17.50: Nadal holds his serve in the third to move 2-0 ahead. It's just a matter of time for the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Murray continues to make errors against Gasquet. He trails 15-30 on serve.

17.44: Out of nowhere Gasquet breaks back. It was error after error from Murray. 3-4 Gasquet on serve.

17.40: More from Tim Henman's former coach David Felgate: "I don't think Gasquet's playing unbelievable tennis but it's an intriguing stage of the match."

17.38: Ever so lucky for Murray as he mis-hits just onto the line. The Scot trails 15-30 on serve.

17.36: SET! Nadal secures the second set 6-0 to open up a two-sets-to-nil lead.

17.34: Murray breaks! Big moment in this match as the Scot moves 4-2 ahead in the second.

17.34: Here we go then. Three break points for Murray.

17.32: Another break from Nadal as he moves 5-0 ahead in the second. The Spaniard will serve for the second set.

17.32: Extremely important hold from Murray as he moves 3-2 ahead in the second with a serve and volley.

17.30: Nadal holds his serve to move 4-0 ahead in the second.

17.28: The Frenchman does hold to move level at 2-2. Murray has lost just twice in 41 matches against French players. Will it be three in 42?

17.26: Some wonderful tennis being played between Gasquet and Murray. Gasquet leads 40-30 on serve.

17.26: Nadal breaks Monaco once more to move 3-0 ahead in the second. All a bit too easy for the world number two thus far.

17.24: However, Murray does hold his serve to move 2-1 ahead in the second set.

17.22: Here are some Murray stats from that first set: The Scot won just 50 per cent of points on his first serve and merely 43 per cent on his second.

17.20: It wasn't the best opening set for Murray, but he does look better in the second.

17.18: Easy enough for Gasquet as he holds his opening service game of the third to level it at 1-1. Meanwhile, Nadal leads Monaco 2-0 in the second set.

17.16: It's been some start from Gasquet today. He looks a different player to the one who lost to Murray last year.

17.14: Murray barks to himself as he holds the opening game in the second set.

17.13: More from Tim Henman's former coach David Felgate: "Andy Murray is going to have to find a whole lot of game if he is to get back into this one. Maybe he is just waiting to go two sets down like he normally does against Gasquet but this is a different Gasquet and a different Murray."

17.11: Strong start to the second set from Murray as he plays a delicate drop shot over the net to move 30-0 ahead.

16.50: Murray recovers from 0-40 to take this third game into deuce. Fantastic defence from the Scot.

16.50: Just wonderful from Murray as he recovers two sensational shots from Gasquet to win the point. He was in the crowd on that last one! Brilliant.

16.48: Meanwhile, Nadal holds serve to move 4-2 ahead of Monaco in the opening set.

16.47: Gasquet does indeed break, however, as Murray double-faults.

16.46: A word from Andy Murray's former coach David Felgate on the BBC: "The end that Gasquet just served from is where the wind is coming from, so you'd think it will be easier to hold serve at that end."

16.44: However, Murray answers straight back with two winners of his own.

16.44: Wow, that's some start from the Frenchman. He leads 0-40 on the Murray serve.

16.24: Up next is the meeting between Gasquet and Murray. Meanwhile, Nadal holds to love to level it at 1-1 with Monaco.

Result: Sharapova 6-4 6-7 6-2 Zakopalova

16.20: Monaco holds the opening game against Nadal. Strong start from the Argentine.

16.18: Meanwhile, the match between Monaco and Nadal is underway.

16.16: However, as expected, the match continues. Zakopalova records the break to move 2-5 behind.

16.14: Sharapova gives herself match point with a fine backhand. However, the door is closed by brilliant play from her Czech opponent.

16.12: Brilliant from Zakopalova as she just clips the line with a forehand. 30-30 on the Sharapova serve.

16.10: She's got it! Sharapova moves 5-1 ahead in the third. The Russian will now serve for the match.

16.08: Sharapova is just a point away from moving into a 5-1 lead.

16.06: Still we remain at deuce and 4-1 Sharapova. Can the Russian move to within a serve of the match?

13.24: Del Potro holds to leave Berdych serving to remain in the match with the score 5-4 in the Argentine's favour.

13.22: Back to Del Potro and Berdych, who has held his serve to level up the scores at 4-4. One gets the impression this is a big game coming up, Del Potro to serve.

13.20: However, Zakopalova responds in the best way possible to break back and level the scores at 1-1.

13.18: Elsewhere, Sharapova has broken Zakopalova at the first time of asking to take a 1-0 lead in the opening set.

13.16: BREAK POINT Berych - he has to take this...which he does to reduce the arrears further to 4-3 as Del Potro hits it long! Now he has to hold.

13.15: 30-30 on Del Potro's serve. Can Berdych make a breakthrough now?

12.53: A quick return to Tsonga, you can read our match report from his five-setter with Wawrinka here.

12.52: It may be worth keeping an eye on Del Potro's fitness. The former US Open champion has his knee heavily strapped. Can he last the encounter should it go the distance?

12.51: As it stands, Argentine Del Potro leads Berdych 7-6 1-6 6-3.

12.50: Unfortunately there is no time to dwell on Tsonga's success as Juan Martin Del Potro and Tomas Berdych resume their last 16 encounter.

12.40: So, can Wawrinka hold his serve to stay in the match? As it stands, the scores are level at 15-15.

12.38: It's not enough though, as Tsonga produces a trademark powerful stroke down the line to leave Wawrinka serving to stay in the match at 5-4.

12.35: Make that 40-0, surely he the Frenchman must hold his serve!

12.34: What a shot from Tsonga on the run to put him 30-0 up on his own serve.

12.33: And now we have a game has Wawrinka holds his service game to level up the fifth set at four games apiece. Who will choke first here?

12.32: Thanks kindly Mr Law! So, it has been pretty straightforward for the Spanish pairing of David Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro this morning. It doesn't look to be so comfortable for home favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga though, who has been broken by Stanilas Wawrinka in the fifth set.

Right, that's me for now. I will be leaving you in the capable hands of the sublime Liam Apicella for the next hour of tennis. See you in an hour!
