Hello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match between Stanislas Wawrinka and Tommy Robredo in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

We are ready to get started on the Rod Laver Arena. It's Wawrinka to serve first. Game on!

What a start from Wawrinka. A winner off either side, plus a composed volley at the net. It's a hold to love for the Swiss.

A couple of errors from Wawrinka allow Robredo to ease to 40-0, but the Swiss remains in the game with a drive volley that catches the line. The Spaniard then nets to give Wawrinka a sniff of a chance, but he eventually seals the game.

A shaky game from Wawrinka allow Robredo the chance to break serve, but the Swiss regains his composure to strike a forehand into the corner to hold. You get the feeling that this could be a long one.

BREAK! Some aggressive play from Wawrinka sees him create three break points, and although the first is saved after a forehand is netted, the second is converted and the number eight seed has the first break of the evening.

Robredo isn't playing bad at all, but Wawrinka is well on top. Ever since he made his breakthrough on the major scene last year, Wawrinka has looked much more accomplished, and it's showing here.

Wawrinka hits a huge forehand for 15-15, but Robredo plays a game fitting of a former world number five. He concludes the game with an inside-out forehand at the net to remain competitive in the set.

Robredo could be accused of having an over-reliance on stepping around the ball to use his forehand, but he uses the technique to great effect to earn a break point. However, a Wawrinka forehand catches the line and after a couple of Robredo mistakes, the number eight seed moves one away from the opening set.

Robredo opens up a 30-0 lead before Wawrinka lets fly with a trademark backhand down the line. The Spaniard holds firm, though, to force Wawrinka to serve for the set.

SET! Wawrinka has 30-0 in no time at all, and although Robredo competes gamely in a lengthy rally, the Swiss thunders down a forehand to earn three set points, the first of which is taken with another winner. That was pretty much the perfect set from Wawrinka.

BREAK! Wawrinka's frustration is for all to see after missing out on an opportunity to reach 0-30, but he gets a break point when Robredo goes wide. The next rally is the longest of the match, but Wawrinka comes out on top with a brute of a forehand into the corner to establish an early break.

The Swiss is really in his stride now. Another forehand winner brings up 30-0, and that is quickly followed by an ace. A shot into the net keeps Robredo interested, but another ace consolidates the break.

The coverage of this match probably sounds dominated by Wawrinka, but it is really all about the Swiss at the moment. He smashes his way to 15-30, but misses another attempted winner by inches. Robredo takes the game, but he was helped out by his opponent.

Wawrinka overcomes the frustration of missing out on another break with an easy hold to love. It's hard to see how Robredo will get a look in at the moment.

It's 30-0 to Robredo, but he misses a forehand to allow Wawrinka a chance. The Swiss capitalises by sending his eighth backhand winner down the line before Robredo floats a forehand wide. It's break point to Wawrinka, but a timely first serve gets Robredo out of trouble and he ensures that he remains just one break behind.

Wawrinka fires down aces number four and five for a 40-0 lead, before an easy volley at the net takes the game. Routine stuff.

The number eight seed caresses a forehand winner past Robredo, but the Spaniard responds in kind with a backhand of his own. Robredo is trying to step things up a notch, but Wawrinka is wise to it and fires a flat forehand into the corner. However, Robredo is hanging on in there, and he survives a break point to hold serve.

Robredo is trudging from side to side with a look of resignation as Wawrinka hits a couple of aces, but a double fault gives the Spaniard hope. However, he blasts a return into the net and Wawrinka is one away from a two-set lead.

Robredo draws Wawrinka into the net before passing him with a glorious backhand down the line, and he holds to love in comfortable fashion. Can Wawrinka hold his nerve in the next game?

BREAK! Now then. A clever lob from Robredo forces Wawrinka to net for 30-30, and although Wawrinka creates a set point, he misses it, and two mistakes in a row, both on the forehand side, allow Robredo to break! We are back level in this second set.

All of a sudden, there is a spring in Robredo's step. He makes a sloppy error at 30-0, but apart from that, it's a dominant game from the Spaniard, and out of nowhere, Wawrinka must serve to force a tie-break.

Normal order restored? Wawrinka blasts his way to four points in a row, and we are into a tie-break. Crucial time in the match...

Tommy Robredo - what a shot! After losing the first point, Wawrinka pushes the Spaniard to the back of the court, but he responds with an incredible cross-court backhand for the mini-break. However, Wawrinka repsonds with three points in a row, earning a mini-break for himself, and a fourth point gives him a commanding lead at the change of ends.

SET! Wawrinka is furious with himself after netting from the baseline, but he regains the mini-break when Robredo goes long. The Swiss senses blood and he batters Robredo with several huge forehands before another gets the job done. It's three set points to the Swiss, and the first is taken with a routine volley at the net.

Wawrinka starts confidently in the third, firing down his 10th ace and 40th winner on the way to a hold to 30. In contrast, Robredo has made 17 winners.

That's a remarkable get from Wawrinka, who gets the ball back over the net that forces Robredo to go wide. However, Robredo reels off three points in a row to level the score in this set at 1-1.

Robredo fights his way to 30-30, but he gets no luck when a Wawrinka backhand clips the net and goes over. It gives the Swiss the initiative and he seals the game with a forehand cross-court.

The opening four points are shared, leaving Robredo with a couple of important points to hold, but he does so after Wawrinka goes for too much on a backhand down the line.

Wawrinka looks on course for a love game before throwing in a double fault. However, he makes up for it with an ace to edge ahead one more. Can he find the break of serve that would probably secure him the match?

Two stray shots off the ground from Robredo hand 0-30 to Wawrinka, but the Spaniard whips a top-spin forehand over the net and finds the line in the process. Wawrinka then makes two errors before Robredo seals the game with an ace. That was a huge hold for the 31-year-old.

Another easy hold for Wawrinka. He takes the first three points without reply, and although he sends a forehand into the net, Robredo misses the target on the next.

Wawrinka makes a lot of ground up to reach the ball at the net, but he can't get it over to secure a 0-30 lead. That effort appears to knock the stuffing out of him a little, and he makes three errors in a row to concede the game.

It was at this stage of the second set that the Swiss began to make mistakes, and it happens again here. He frames a shot from the baseline, before dumping the ball into the net. Robredo secures two break points with a smash down the line, but the first is saved with a forehand winner. The second is also saved, and Wawrinka keeps the pressure on to take the game. Robredo must hold in the next to remain in the tournament.

Wawrinka looks pumped after an exquisite forehand down the line, but Robredo overpowers him during the next rally to level the score. The Swiss plays a forehand behind his opponent to move to 30-30, and after Robredo secures game point, Wawrinka steps in to take it to deuce with a volley. The next point is a magnificent one, and Robredo comes out on top after a cute lob over his opponent, and Robredo holds when Wawrinka misses the baseline with a forehand.

Two aces help Wawrinka to 30-15, which soon becomes 40-15 with a delightful forehand into the corner. He repeats the trick on game point and Robredo must serve once more to remain in the Australian Open.

A forehand winner helps Robredo to 40-0, but Wawrinka remains in the game with a fine shot on the run. The Swiss tamely concedes the game with a wayward baseline shot, and we are into another tie-break.

Robredo loses the first two points of the breaker, but he responds with a couple of big winners to move a mini-break up. A fourth point in succession is sealed when Wawrinka nets, and the Spaniard is in control.

MATCH! Huge response from Wawrinka, who gets back to 4-4 before rifling down a massive first serve that Robredo can't handle. Robredo is agitated and his frustration gets the better of him as he sends a shot into the net. Two match points for Wawrinka. The first is saved, but the Spaniard nets on the second with a passing shot, and Wawrinka is through to the quarter-finals!

It appeared as though Robredo was going to come through that third set, but it wasn't to be. In what proved to be a high-quality encounter, Wawrinka deserves his place in the last eight.

Wawrinka will now played Novak Djokovic. I hope that they can repeat the drama of their last two Grand Slam matches!

That will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again soon. Goodbye for now.
