Rampant Novak Djokovic powers past Rafael Nadal

Novak Djokovic books his place in the final of the ATP World Tour as he breezes past Rafael Nadal 6-3 6-3 in London.

Novak Djokovic moved a step closer to a fourth successive ATP World Tour Finals crown as he comfortably outclassed Rafael Nadal 6-3 6-3 at the O2 Arena in London this afternoon.

Djokovic was barely tested by Nadal in the 46th meeting between the pair, and will now face either Roger Federer or Stanislas Wawrinka in tomorrow's final.

The number one seed roared out of the blocks and broke Nadal's opening service game with four winners to take an early 2-0 lead.

The Spaniard was made to work hard by Djokovic in his second service game, but dug deep to steady the ship at 3-1 in the face of some fearsome groundstrokes, particularly on the backhand side, from the Serbian.

However, Djokovic was utterly dominant on his own serve, not giving his opponent a sniff in the opening set, which he took 6-3.

Nadal kept the match alive as he won three consecutive points and saved a break point to hang on to his serve in the opening game of the second set.

He was powerless to resist Djokovic's onslaught in the fifth game, though, as the world number one produced a faultless point to break Nadal and move 3-2 ahead.

From there Djokovic didn't look back, seeing out the match with a final break of Nadal's serve courtesy of another crunching backhand.
