Great Britain's Jamie Murray and Australian John Peers have suffered a dramatic defeat at the hands of Mike and Bob Bryan to crash out of the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Murray and Peers, playing together for the last time, lost 6-7(5) 7-6(5) 16-14 after squandering five match points, including four from 9-5 up.
The fourth seeds had let a 5-2 lead slip in the first set but were able to finish the job, and were then hauled back from 5-3 up in the second-set tie-break.
Victory looked a formality as they held four match points in a row in the decider, but nerves struck and the four-time champions nullified the deficit before clinching the game at their fifth opportunity.
The Bryan brothers will now contest the semi-finals on Saturday, while Murray will be teaming up with Brazil's Bruno Soares in 2016.
