Mark Allen defeats former champion Judd Trump to book his place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship.

Mark Allen has beaten former champion Judd Trump to book his place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship in York.

The match was a repeat of the 2011 final, but this time it was the Irishman who earned the win as he saw off Trump 6-4.

Allen's opponent in the last eight will be Englishman Ricky Walden.

Walden made it through earlier on Wednesday as he recorded a surprise 6-4 triumph over China's Ding Junhui.
