Castleford Tigers secure dominant victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

Castleford Tigers dominate Wakefield Trinity Wildcats from start to finish to secure a 50-12 win in this afternoon's Super League encounter.

Castleford Tigers breezed past Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to secure a dominant 50-12 win in this afternoon's Super League clash.

Castleford dominated the opening stages of the game and took the lead on 13 minutes through a try from Daryl Clark and a well-taken conversion by Marc Sneyd.

Five minutes later, Justin Carney got his side's second try of the game to increase their lead even further.

Wakefield had no answer to Castleford throughout the first half as Jordan Tansey grabbed himself a try before Sneyd added the conversion soon after.

Michael Shenton rounded off Castleford's fine first-half display with a try that gave them a 22-0 lead.

Sneyd kicked off the second half with a try and a conversion to maintain his side's complete dominance, with Carney getting his second of the game five minutes later.

Nick Scruton finally got some points on the board for Wakefield with a try and 57 minutes, which was followed by a conversion from Jarrod Sammut.

Two tries in quick succession from Sneyd and Frankie Mariano all but confirmed the win for Castleford on 66 minutes.

Paul Sykes got a late try for Wakefield, though it was merely a consolation by then as Castleford secured the win with another try from Clark before the final whistle.
