Huddersfield Giants 14-35 Wakefield Wildcats

Five tries in the second half help Wakefield Wildcats record a 35-14 win over Huddersfield Giants.

Wakefield Wildcats ended a run of four matches without a victory by recording a 35-14 win from their trip to Huddersfield Giants this afternoon.

The hosting Giants started the opening 40 minutes brightly and went into the break with an 8-6 lead.

Luke George claimed a brace of tries for the Giants, while Ben Cockayne got the away side onto the board. Wakefield's Paul Sykes brought his team to within two points of their hosts when he added the extras from Cockayne's try.

The Giants went further in front six minutes after the restart when Eorl Crabtree went over for another try. Danny Brough sent over the resultant kick to put the home team in command.

However, tries from Dean Collis, Lee Smith, Richard Mathers, Danny Kirmond and Lee Smith claimed the points for the visitors, who went on to control large parts of the second half.

Sykes was also in good form with the boot, converting four of the extras on offer.
