Catalan Dragons thrashed Warrington Wolves 44-16 at the Stade Gilbert Brutus in the Super League this afternoon.
The hosts made a blistering start to the match scoring two tries through Lopini Paea and record points scorer Thomas Bosc, the first of which was converted by Scott Dureau to give the French side a 10-0 lead after just six minutes.
Warrington hit back with a try of their own through Mickey Higham but the Dragons restored their lead when 38-year-old Steve Menzies powered over.
The Wolves once again responded with a well worked try to put Chris Riley over in the corner before a high kick from Dureau wasn't dealt with by the Wolves' defence, allowing Louis Anderson in for the Dragons' fourth try of the match.
Setaimata Sa touched down for his fourth try of the season ten minutes into the second half to extend the home side's lead to 14 points.
Daryl Millard then produced a moment of magic with just over ten minutes left to pull the hosts clear, running in a fine solo try.
This opened up the floodgates for the Dragons as Sa and Menzies both ran in their second of the match in quick succession.
Warrington got a consolation try through Brad Dwyer late on, but it will do nothing to console the Wolves after they conceded 40 points for the first time in three years.
The result means that the Dragons move up to third in the Super League, replacing today's opponents who drop to fifth.
