Greg Searle is still in with a chance of gold following his British side's eight-crew repechage to claim a spot in the final.

British rower Greg Searle's hopes of claiming a second gold medal are still alive following his team's repechage win at Eton Dorney.

The 40-year-old, who won his first medal 20 years ago, led his side to the finish line, with Canada and the Netherlands finishing second and third respectively.

The eight-crew race began well for the British side, who took a clear lead at the halfway mark, despite pressure from Canada and Australia towards the end of the race.

The Brits held off their opponents and clinched the number one spot with Australia also qualifying in fourth place.

Meanwhile, the men's female counterparts claimed a place in the quadruple sculls repechage final, finishing third.
