Watford's Andre Gray 'due in court on battery charge'

Watford striker Andre Gray reportedly faces a date in court after being accused of assaulting a woman in a Las Vegas club.

Watford striker Andre Gray reportedly faces a court appearance after being accused of hitting a woman in a Las Vegas nightclub.

According to BBC Sport, the 27-year-old received a citation from police over the incident, which took place in Drai's nightclub during the early hours of May 26.

Another man, believed to be a friend of Gray's, also received a citation for battery from a police officer who was working near the nightclub at the time.

Gray has not pleaded guilty to the offence and is due in a US court on July 18.

This is not the first time that the former Burnley striker has courted controversy. In 2016, he was banned for four games when homophobic messages he wrote while playing for non-league Hinckley United in 2012 surfaced.
