Real Madrid's Luka Jovic 'facing six months in Serbian prison'

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic could receive a six-month prison sentence in Serbia after violating the country's coronavirus quarantine rules, according to a report.

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic is reportedly facing the possibility of spending six months in a Serbian prison, having violated the country's coronavirus quarantine rules.

Los Blancos told their players to self-isolate and remain in quarantine when the virus started to spread across the world, but the 22-year-old instead travelled back to Belgrade to celebrate his girlfriend's birthday.

According to Tanjug, the Serbian prosecutor's office claim that Jovic did not comply with the required health protocols upon his arrival in his home country.

The report adds that Jovic, who was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window, could now receive a six-month prison sentence.

The former Red Star Belgrade youngster has struggled to make his mark for Zinedine Zidane's side since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt, managing just two goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.

Manchester United were thought to be interested in a loan deal over the summer.
