Kolo Toure discusses malaria recovery

Kolo Toure insists that he has recovered from malaria ahead of the Ivory Coast's World Cup campaign in Brazil this weekend.

Liverpool and Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure has insisted that he is "absolutely fine" after recovering from malaria.

The 33-year-old contracted the illness last month ahead of his nation's World Cup campaign.

However, the defender has insisted that he is in good health after being treated by the Ivory Coast medical team.

"I feel okay," Toure told reporters. "The malaria was just for two days, obviously we have the medical department that know malaria very well, they gave me tablets.

"I was in bed for two days. Everyone was talking. I had a phone call from my club, from people around the world.

"I'm absolutely fine because my body is used to that kind of sickness, it's not the first time, and it won't be the last time. I feel great now, I'm training with the team, the manager makes me work harder which is very good for me and I feel great."

The Ivory Coast will open their World Cup campaign against Japan on Sunday.
