Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how England could line up in their Euro 2020 clash with Scotland on Friday night.

England boss Gareth Southgate has a number of decisions to make heading into Friday's Euro 2020 clash with Scotland at Wembley Stadium.

Dean Henderson has been forced to withdraw from the squad due to a hip problem, while Jack Grealish has emerged as a doubt slight for the Group D clash, having missed group training on Tuesday.

Southgate does not have any concerns from the side that started Sunday's 1-0 win over Croatia, though, and it would not be a surprise to see the same XI sent onto the field.

Harry Maguire is making steps forward in his recovery from an ankle injury and has now declared himself fit, but it seems unlikely that the Manchester United captain will return for this match, while Jordan Henderson is not expected to come into the XI, as the Liverpool skipper manages his recovery from a long-term groin issue.

Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell will both hope to be a part of the squad, having been left out entirely against Croatia, and there could be a change at left-back.

Luke Shaw, rather than Chilwell, would be the favourite to replace Kieran Trippier, though, and the Manchester United defender could come into the starting XI for Friday's contest.

Kalvin Phillips was outstanding against Croatia and should again start alongside Declan Rice and Mason Mount in midfield, while Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden may again join Harry Kane in attack despite the number of other options in that area of the field.

Tyrone Mings should also have done enough to keep his spot in the middle of the defence, having impressed alongside John Stones in England's tournament opener at Wembley, with Maguire potentially in line to make his return against Czech Republic.

England possible starting lineup: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Mings, Shaw; Phillips, Rice, Mount; Sterling, Kane, Foden
