How Colombia could line up against Brazil

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Colombia could line up for Thursday's Copa America clash with Brazil.

Colombia manager Reinaldo Rueda has several decisions to make going into their Copa America clash with Brazil on Thursday, following a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Peru last time out.

Although frontman Miguel Borja did find the net from the penalty spot, the attacking line looked fairly toothless on the whole, with Borja, Duvan Zapata and Edwin Cardona all potentially at risk of being dropped.

That could warrant a return to the side for Atalanta forward Luis Muriel, while winger Luis Diaz may be awarded his first start of the tournament as he returns from suspension, having only made cameos in the opening two games.

His Porto teammate Mateus Uribe will also return from a suspension, and he should slot back into the midfield alongside Wilmar Barrios.

Barrios has arguably been the key man for Colombia so far at this tournament with some dynamic midfield performances, and he will play a crucial role in front of the back four on Thursday as they come up against one of the best attacking lines in the tournament.

At the back, Yerry Mina should keep his place despite scoring an own goal in the defeat last time out, and he is expected to continue his established partnership with Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez, shielding experienced goalkeeper David Ospina between the sticks.

Colombia possible starting lineup: Ospina; Medina, Sanchez, Mina, Tesillo; Cuadrado, Barrios, Cuellar, Uribe, Diaz; Muriel
