Manchester United prepare to offer Paul Pogba a five-year contract worth £400,000 a week, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to offer Paul Pogba a five-year contract worth £400,000 a week, which would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old's existing deal with the Red Devils is due to expire next June, and a number of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus, continue to be linked with his signature.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola allegedly held talks with PSG last week over the possibility of a move to the French capital during this summer's transfer window.

Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that the France international still has his heart set on a switch to Real Madrid despite Zinedine Zidane's departure as head coach.

However, according to The Sun, Man United are desperate to keep hold of the World Cup winner, who is currently representing his country at Euro 2020.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions are planning to offer the midfielder a five-year contract worth £400,000 a week, which would take him to the summer of 2026.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are said to be prepared to wait until after the European Championship to conclude discussions but want the agreement in place before the start of next season.

Pogba, who currently earns just short of £300,000 a week, scored six times and registered nine assists in 42 appearances for Man United during the 2020-21 campaign.
