Netherlands gymnast Epke Zonderland wins gold in the men's horizontal bars final following a tense final.

Epke Zonderland has won gold for the Netherlands following a faultless performance in the horizontal bars final.

The Dutchman thrilled the crowd at the North Greenwich Arena with a difficult routine, which included three twists in succession, just minutes after Germany's Fabian Hambuchen took the lead following his stint on the bar.

Zonderland, who has become the first ever gymnast from the Netherlands to win gold, secured a 16.533 score to take the top honour, while Hambuchen dropped to silver with a 16.400.

One of two Chinese athletes competed in today's final but only one could claim a spot on the podium as Zou Kai clinched the bronze medal over compatriot Zhang Chenglong, who finished in fourth.
