Frenchman Julien Quesne has won the Andalucian Open after carding a final-round 64 to hold off the challenge of Matteo Manassero.

Quesne tied the course record, set by Manassero in the first round of this year's tournament, to finish on 17 under-par, two shots clear of the young Italian.

The 31-year-old birdied four of the final five holes on his way to victory, his first ever on the European Tour.

"This is the best day of my life. It wasn't easy because you have Matteo Manassero and the others all playing good so I just tried to play shot after shot and do my best," Quesne told Sky Sports.

"I asked my caddie all the time since 15 about the score so I knew if I birdied on the last one I'll have a good chance.

"I've been playing well for three months but I'm very happy to get a win this early in the year. I'll remember this day for all of my life," he added.

Quesne's previous highest ranking was 322nd in the world.
