Brooks Koepka extends his lead by one shot heading into the fourth round of the Open in San Martin, California.

Brooks Koepka has retained the lead heading into the fourth round of the Open.

The 23-year-old American held a one-shot lead at the end of the second round at CordeValle Golf Club in California, but he had stretched his advantage to two shots over compatriots George McNeill and Jason Kokrak.

Vijay Singh, Jimmy Walker and Robert Garrigus lead the chase on 12-under-par, while Max Homa, Ben Martin, Ryo Ishikawa and Jim Herman are five shots off the lead.

A group of eight players - including Hideki Matsuyama - are on nine-under-par, while Brian Davis, Jeff Overton and Andres Gonzalez are tied for 20th on eight-over par.
