Teenager Jin Cheng secures Masters invite

Seventeen-year-old Jin Cheng wins a place at the 2016 Masters with victory in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

Seventeen-year-old Jin Cheng has secured an invite to next year's Masters after winning the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

However, the teenager didn't hit a ball in the fourth round of the tournament as bad weather forced the cancellation of the final 18 holes, leaving third-round leader Cheng with the title.

His 11-under score after 54 holes was enough to edge out edge Australian amateur champion Cameron Davis by a single stroke.

As well as securing Masters qualification, the victory also guarantees Cheng a place in the final round of qualifying for the 2016 Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Cheng has featured twice on the European Tour this season, at the Shenzhen International where he tied for 94th place, and the Volvo China Open where he finished in 79th spot.
