Collin Morikawa dismisses speculation linking him with a switch to LIV Golf on the same day that it was reported that Brooks Koepka will leave the PGA Tour.

Collin Morikawa has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to the controversial LIV Golf Series.

On the back of the first 48-player tournament taking place at the Centurion Golf Club in England, there is talk of more high-profile figures signing up for the Saudi Arabia-backed competition.

Brooks Koepka is expected to join the likes of Bryson Dechambeau and Patrick Reed in penning deals to play the remainding seven tournaments of the year and beyond.

Koepka, a former world number one and four-time major champion, removed references to the PGA Tour from his bio on social media, and the absence of the same information led to claims that Morikawa was to follow suit.

However, the reigning Open champion quickly hit back at those rumours, committing himself to the PGA Tour in the process.

On Twitter, the 25-year-old said: "Last week at my press conference, I said the media loves creating drama. Sure enough, I woke up this morning to everyone thinking I'm next. Not to say I told you so but...I told you so.

"To state for the record, once again, you all are absolutely wrong. I've said it since February at Riviera that I'm here to stay on the PGA Tour and nothing has changed. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some cereal to pour in my milk."

Morikawa's clarification will be of huge relief to PGA Tour officials, who are having to deal with persistent speculation regarding more of the top players in the sport.

Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy have reiterated that they have no intention of joining the LIV Golf Series, regardless of any offers which come their way.

The second of eight events will take place in Portland in Oregon at the end of this month.
