Yossi Benayoun is handed a rare start for West Ham United as Sam Allardyce's side prepare to welcome Southampton to Upton Park.

Sam Allardyce has handed a start to Yossi Benayoun for the visit of Southampton to Upton Park in the Premier League.

The Israeli midfielder is expected to play on the wing in an attempt to provide service to Andy Carroll, who leads the line for the Hammers.

Saints manager Nigel Adkins has selected goalkeeper Artur Boruc for the first time in the league and has also chosen to leave Rickie Lambert on the bench.

Lambert's omission means that Guly Do Prado will partner Jay Rodriguez in attack for the visitors.

West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Tomkins, Reid, Collins, McCartney, Noble, Nolan, Diame, Benayoun, Jarvis, Carroll

Southampton: Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Davis, Lallana, Puncheon, Do Prado, Rodriguez
