Good morning everyone! It's another day of transfer watch and the clock is ticking for clubs to finalise their deals. Wilfried Bony's £28m move to Manchester City remains the most expensive transfer of the window so far in the Premier League, but could that all change today? Rest assured, we'll let you know of any developments.
Simon Mignolet's future at Liverpool has been discussed in the gossip pages in recent weeks, with some news outlets reporting that the club are keen to sign Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan from Club Brugge. However, the shot-stopper's agent has revealed that a move is "unlikely" this month.
Overnight, there were plenty of stories making the headlines. If you missed them, you can catch up in our latest Transfer Talk Update, which features Andre Schurrle, Mats Hummels and Paul Pogba.
This particular transfer story is hugely unlikely to happen in this window, but it's worth a mention nonetheless! As I'm sure you've noticed, Lionel Messi has been linked with a shock move away from Barcelona following reports that he is unhappy with head coach Luis Enrique. Premier League heavyweights Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been touted as possible destinations for the four-time Ballon d'Or winner, and it is believed that global sportswear brand Adidas are ready to give extra money to United to lodge a £200m bid for the prolific star.

Let's stay with the Premier League big-hitters and focus on Chelsea's rumoured bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado. It is believed that the Blues are considering activating his £26.8m release clause. Meanwhile, Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is reportedly not a transfer priority for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

Thanks Danielle, good morning everyone! A bit of gossip to bring you from the Championship first, where Ipswich Town are said to be close to signing veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny. The former Queens Park Rangers man is without a club following his release by Bolton Wanderers on Monday.
The future of Divock Origi appears to have now been settled. Liverpool were keen to cut the Belgian international's loan spell at Lille short and bring him back to Anfield, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the forward will now stay with the Ligue 1 outfit for the rest of the season.
Staying in the Premier League now and it appears that Manchester United are desperate to keep hold of David de Gea. The Old Trafford outfit have reportedly slapped a £50m price tag on the Spanish goalkeeper in a bid to fend off interest from Real Madrid.
Championship side Brentford have completed the signing of Everton youngster Chris Long on loan. The 19-year-old striker moves to Griffin Park on an initial one-month deal.
Manchester United were linked with Netherlands international Bruno Martins Indi during the summer, after he played under Louis van Gaal at the World Cup in Brazil. The 22-year-old has since moved to Porto, but it appears that United will revive their interest in the player this month. Van Gaal will reportedly make an offer for the player before the January transfer window closes.

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen believes that the club should forget about trying to tempt Gareth Bale back to the Premier League. The Real Madrid midfielder has been linked with a switch to old Trafford, with reports claiming that an offer of £50m plus David de Gea could be enough to force the La Liga outfit to sell.
Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town have signed veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny on a four-month contract until May. The 36-year-old joins the Tractor Boys a day after he left another second-tier side in Bolton Wanderers.
Former Juventus coach Marcello Lippi has urged the club to sell midfielder Paul Pogba. Juve director general Giuseppe Marotta recently revealed that Real Madrid are keen on signing the 21-year-old.
Swansea City have reportedly opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Naughton over a move to the Liberty Stadium. The Swans are understood to have had a £5m bid accepted for the 26-year-old.
Ipswich Town have secured the services of Kevin Bru until 2018 with a new three-and-a-half year contract. The Mauritian midfielder, whose deal also gives Ipswich the option of a further year, joined the Blues on a one-year contract last summer and has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions.

A couple of lines coming out of Manchester now involving the city's two Premier League clubs. First up champions City, who are said to be close to losing the services of James Milner. Thanks Pascal! I'll begin my stint on this evening's blog with the news that Ryan Blunt has joined Plymouth Argyle. He was released earlier today by Bristol Rovers, but has agreed terms on an 18-month deal with the Pilgrims.
There are no end to reports linking Mario Balotelli with a move away from Liverpool and today it has emerged that Lazio want to bring in the striker on loan. He has not started for the Reds since November and has missed the last couple of games through illness.
Here's another interesting transfer involving an Italian club. AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien has struggled for playing time at the San Siro and it is believed that West Bromwich Albion are interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is adamant that there is "no chance" of striker Christian Benteke being sold this month. Tottenham Hotspur are among those reportedly tracking the 24-year-old, who has netted twice in 13 Premier League starts.

This isn't transfer-related per se, but Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley has revealed that he will not be pressured into replacing Alan Pardew, and claims that he will wait until the summer to find the "right man" if necessary. What's that noise? It's the sound of Sunderland fans popping champagne over the prospect of John Carver being in charge for another five months.
