Rose: 'Give Pochettino what he wants'

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose admits that he is glad Mauricio Pochettino has called out the club's board over a lack of spending compared to rival sides.

Danny Rose has called on the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy to give Mauricio Pochettino "what he wants" if they are to keep the Argentine in place.

Pochettino issued a thinly-veiled ultimatum to chairman Daniel Levy last weekend, warning that more money needs to be invested during the summer transfer window if Spurs are to push on.

Rose, who himself criticised Lilywhites chiefs for a lack of spending last year, believes that the only amicable solution is to back the former Espanyol and Southampton boss ahead of next season.

"I have learned my lesson on speaking on that sort of stuff. It is good that the manager has come out and said that," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I hope the manager, his coaching staff, the recruitment staff and the chairman can all come together and give the manager what he wants.

"I am fully behind whatever happens in the off-season, I hope we get some good recruits to help us push on and as the manager said the next step is to try and hopefully win something next year."

Pochettino has guided Tottenham to top-three finishes in the last three Premier League seasons, despite having a smaller budget to work with than his rivals.
