Live Commentary: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Norwich City - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live commentary of Tottenham vs. Norwich as both sides look for their first wins of the season.

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of today's Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City at White Hart Lane.

Both sides are still looking for their first wins of the season, and both bosses their first league wins with their respective clubs.

Andre Villas-Boas began his Spurs career with a 2-1 loss to Newcastle, while a late equaliser from West Brom last weekend ensured that Spurs didn't take all three points in their first home game.

Chris Hughton, meanwhile, suffered a torrid start with the Canaries, losing 5-0 to Fulham on the opening day. They responded last weekend with a 1-1 draw against QPR.

Note that kickoff is at 3pm.

5pmThat's all from me on this match today, thanks for reading. Join me later for Manchester City vs Queens Park Rangers, a repeat of last season's thrilling finale!

4.59pmYou can find a full match report of the match here.

4.57pmVillas-Boas, meanwhile, must already be feeling the pressure. It is still ludicrously early in his Spurs career, but he needs a win soon to get that monkey off his back. It's not just three points from what would have probably been an expected seven.

4.54pmSo both managers are still looking for their first league wins in charge of their respective teams, but Hughton will be a happy man tonight no doubt.

95 minFULL-TIME Spurs 1-1 Norwich

93 minNorwich come forward one last time, but Holt can't make anything of the attack.

92 minThe sending off has riled this crowd up. No doubt that what is looking like another failure to win is also contributing to the fans' anger.

90 minFour minutes of added time, and now Spurs will have to hold on to a point with just ten men! Things not going right for Villas-Boas.

89 minThings go from bad to worse for Spurs as they are reduced to ten men. Huddlestone goes in for a 50/50 challenge with a Norwich player, who pulls up hurt. The ref flashes a red card at Huddlestone for, presumably, a double-footed challenge. Very harsh decision.

88 minRED CARD! (Huddlestone)

86 minYellow card for Bale as he petulantly throws the ball at the ground in dissent after not being awarded a corner. Silly booking from Bale's point of view.

86 minHuddlestone looks to respond immediately, but his shot is wayward, joining many of his teammates' shots in the stands.

84 minSpurs have been hit late again! Holt helps the ball on from a nod back after a free kick and Snodgrass fires a half volley into the bottom corner. 1-1!

84 minGOAL! (Snodgrass)

81 minAnother change for Tottenham as Jermain Defoe comes off for Tom Huddlestone, who is still at the club despite coming close to leaving during the summer. Defensive sub as Villas-Boas looks to hold on to his lead.

79 minSpurs probably look the most likely to get another here. Bale's corner results in a clumsy tackle on Lennon, giving his side a free kick in a dangerous position but, again, it comes to nothing.

78 minA half-hearted long range effort from Spurs goes straight into the arms of Ruddy.

75 minNorwich are claiming a penalty but the referee waves it away. 15 minutes left here.

74 minThe match has resorted to how it was before the goal, no real reaction from Norwich.

68 minWhat a start for a the 15m man! Dembele takes the ball under instant control on the edge of the box before turning the defender to make a yard an firing it into the bottom corner. Great play from the former Fulham man. Luka who?

68 minGOAL! (Dembele)

65 minA tame Norwich header is easy for Friedel... still 0-0 and it doesn't look like changing anytime soon. Anything can happen in football, though!

61 minCHANCE! Snodgrass bundles his way through and the ball falls to Pilkington, whose shot is well saved by Friedel.

60 min...and that comes to nothing as well. Still 0-0.

59 minDefoe's free kick hits the wall, corner now to Spurs...

58 minFree kick right on the edge of the box here as Defoe is brought down. Replays suggest that it could have actual been inside the box, but could have gone either way.

56 minOn comes Emmanuel Adebayor for Sigurdsson - Tottenham's second change of the match already.

54 minGareth Bale goes for speculative effort from outside the box, but it goes high and wide again. The Welshman is yet to get hold of this game.

50 minCHANCE! Grant Holt should have done better there! He is unmarked in the box but sends his header over the bar. Good chance, should have at least worked Friedel.

49 min...but Snodgrass's effort goes well wide.

48 minA foul by Gallas gives Norwich a free kick in a good shooting position here...

46 minCHANCE! Tottenham start the second half well as Sigurdsson volleys an effort on target, but Ruddy is equal to it.

4.02pmHere, by the way, is our half-time report.

4.02pmMoussa Dembele comes on for Sandro to make his debut as Spurs get us underway for the second half.

3.55pmI'm sure Chris Hughton was expecting a tough task at Norwich, but Villas-Boas must have been thinking that his first win would have come before now.

3.54pmSo, as it stands, both managers will still be looking for their first league wins at their respective clubs.

3.51pmWe'll have a full half-time report of the match on site shortly.

3.49pmA chorus of boos greet the half-time whistle at White Hart Lane. That may be a bit harsh, but Norwich have certainly been the better side, and should be ahead. They hit the bar through Russell Martin and saw Friedel make a great save to keep it level.

45+1 minHALF-TIME

45 minOne minute to be added on...

44 minHow can Friedel still do that at 41?! Superb double save.

41 minCHANCE! Wow! If there is a way to convince your manager to start you instead of a new signing, that's it. Friedel produce an outstanding, one-handed save from Snodgrass's header, and denies Norwich again on the rebound. Spectacular, and a message to Hugh Lloris.

39 minAn almost identical free kick to the one Martin hit the crossbar from earlier in the half is well defend by Spurs this time. Norwich are failing to threaten at the moment.

37 minDefoe joins Sandro in hitting row Z, as the ball falls to him to control and volley way over the bar.

36 minSandro tries an effort from a good 40 yards...and unsurprisingly it goes about 40 yards high and wide. Frustration from Tottenham.

33 minA decent spell of possession from Tottenham's results in Lennon's cross being blocked. The corner is blocked, as is the cross from the rebound.

30 minThat nearly put a smile on their faces, though! Bale fires in a fierce, swinging effort that is punched away before Sandro's strike was well saved by Ruddy. That's the closest Spurs have come.

29 minThe Tottenham fans don't really look happy at the moment, Norwich have been the better side in the opening half an hour.

27 minSpurs are beginning to see more of the ball now and have started to slowly take control of the match.

25 min...and immediately Spurs respond with their best chance of the match. Lennon is put through, but doesn't fancy shooting with his left, instead trying to cut back and find Sigurdsson, whose first touch is too heavy.

25 minFantastic ball in by Howson is headed out in front of the striker, and Johnson smashes the rebound over the bar.

22 minWhile we wait for a chance, a stat for you: Norwich won here back in April, and are the last team to do so! Can they do it again?

20 minSpurs can't find a way through at the moment. Norwich have come closest through Russell Martin's header that hit the bar, but that has been the only highlight of the opening stages here.

17 minA rare shot in the opening 20 minutes as Jermain Defoe lets fly from long range, but his low shot goes harmlessly wide.

15 min...just misses Bale and comes to nothing.

15 minCorner to Spurs...

13 minSandro has made a number of untidy challenges in the opening 15 minutes or so. None worth a yellow, but accumatively he may find himself in the book soon if he keeps this up.

10 minFluid move from Tottenham results in a very dangerous cross from Sigurdsson, but no-one could get on the end of it! That was begging for (dare I say it) a Dempsey-like late run into the box.

8 minOFF THE BAR! The free kick is a good one, and I think it was Martin who got the header on it, only to see his effort cannon back off the crossbar. Unlucky, it was a good header.

7 minSnodgrass is brought down by Assou-Ekotto and Norwich have a free kick in a dangerous position for a cross.

5 minSomething of a midfield battle at the moment, with neither side really coming out on top, although Spurs look willing to get forward quickly and with numbers when they get hold of the ball.

2 minThe first shot of the day comes through Gylfi Sigurdsson as Spurs hit on the counter-attack, but his curling effort goes over the bar.

2 minBrief hint of a chance as a Sandro pass almost allows Norwich in, but Vertonghen clears to safety.

1 minWe're underway!

3pmHughton will have fond memories of White Hart Lane of course. A former player here and a lifelong fan of Spurs.

3pmNorwich to kickoff..

2.59pmOK, the teams are out at White Hart Lane!

2.57pmNorwich are hovering just one spot above the relegation zone, with one point and a goal difference of minus five, while Spurs are up in 14th, also with one point.

2.57pmIt's still, of course, very early in the season, but let's have a look at where both sides stand in the Premier League table at the moment, shall we?

2.54pmYou can read the full team news for both sides here.

2.51pmLess than 10 minutes until kickoff now, prediction time. I'm going to go for 2-0 to Tottenham.

2.48pm...and now the away side Norwich:

Ruddy; Martin, Garrido, Barnett, Bassong; Johnson, Howson, Pilkington, Snodgrass; Jackson, Holt.

2.47pmHere are the full teams for either side. We'll start with the home side:

Friedel; Walker, Assou-Ekotto, Vertonghen, Gallas; Livermore, Sandro, Lennon, Bale, Sigurdsson; Defoe.

2.43pmThere is no place for Tottenham's deadline day signings - they weren't completed in time - but Dembele is named on the bench.

2.39pmToday's game is one of four 3pm kickoffs in the Premier League, alongside Swansea vs Sunderland, West Brom vs Everton and Wigan vs Stoke.

2.36pmTwo of Tottenham's London rivals have been in action today, and it finished West Ham 3-0 Fulham. You can read a full match report here.

2.31pmSpurs were one of the biggest winners of yesterday's transfer deadline day, bringing in the likes of Hugo Lloris and Clint Dempsey to add to the capture of Dembele earlier in the window.

2.28pmGood afternoon! We have an exciting match ahead of us today. Both sides will no doubt be desperate to record their first win of the season - the longer it takes the harder it'll be to get!
