How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Sheffield United

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate for a league win when they host Sheffield United.

Spurs have failed to win any of their four Premier League games, losing twice, and have sunk into the bottom half of the table.

However, they did beat Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League in midweek - their first away win in all competitions since early May.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Spurs could line up for Saturday's showdown.

Paulo Gazzaniga will be looking to convince Mauricio Pochettino of his qualities as he continues to stand in for injured club captain Lloris between the sticks - a rare opportunity for the reserve shot-stopper.

Vertonghen's absence also gives Davinson Sanchez another chance to partner Toby Alderweireld in the heart of defence, while first-choice full-backs Danny Rose and Serge Aurier will expect to start on either side of the pair.

Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko have started as a midfield pivot for two successive games and there are signs that Pochettino sees the pairing as the way forward, meaning that the likes of Harry Winks and Eric Dier will have to bide their time on the bench.

Dele Alli's recent goalscoring form since returning from injury should see him retain his place, while Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are key figures in attack and are almost certain to start.

That leaves just one attacking spot and, with Christian Eriksen turning in increasingly poor performances and Lucas Moura seeming to have lost the faith of his manager somewhat, new signing Giovanni Lo Celso could be given a second successive start.
