How Spain could line up against England

Sports Mole looks at how Spain could line up for Monday's UEFA Nations League showdown with England in Seville.

Spain could wrap up the UEFA Nations League Group A4 title on Monday night when they welcome England to the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville.

La Roja won their opening two matches in the competition last month, coming from behind to beat England at Wembley before hammering World Cup runners-up Croatia 6-0 three days later.

New boss Luis Enrique continued his 100% start with a dominant win over Wales in Cardiff on Thursday too, and will look to make it four from four when they welcome England to town.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up against Gareth Southgate's side.

Possible SPA XI vs. ENG

Spain are missing the likes of Dani Carvajal, Jordi Alba, Isco and Diego Costa from their squad at the moment, but that did not prevent them from thrashing Wales with a team weaker than the one they are expected to field on Monday.

The likes of Sergio Busquets, Thiago Alcantara and Marco Asensio are among the players who could be drafted into the starting lineup, with the latter having scored one and created four more in Spain's last Nations League match.

Paco Alcacer scored twice in Cardiff and is also in fine form for Borussia Dortmund at club level, so should retain his place, but Rodrigo Moreno is expected to lead the line ahead of Chelsea's Alvaro Morata.

The strength in depth of the Spanish midfield means that almost any trio could be selected without losing much quality, with Koke vying with the likes of Saul Niguez, Dani Ceballos and Rodri Hernandez for a place in the team.

Nacho could also come into the starting lineup, while Marcos Alonso will be hopeful of a start after Jose Gaya played the full 90 minutes in Wales.
