New York Red Bulls regain top spot in MLS Western Conference

New York Red Bulls defeat Toronto FC 2-0 at the Red Bull Arena to climb back into the driving seat in the MLS Western Conference.

New York Red Bulls have regained top spot in the MLS Eastern Conference thanks to a 2-0 win over Toronto FC at the Red Bull Arena.

Mike Petke's men started the day behind the Canadian team by virtue of games won, but now find themselves three points ahead.

However, the Impact still have two matches in hand on the Red Bulls.

The home side took the lead in 32nd minute when Michael Bustamante flicked Dax McCarty's long ball into the path of Thierry Henry, who rifled past Joe Bendik.

Fabian Espindola added a second with a bullet header in the 80th minute to wrap up the points.
